Oh My Geode

Thanksgiving break was spent in Mexico as usual (I know celebrating an American holiday in Mexico don't ask we are not normal) Anyways I am always making new friends and relationships every day everywhere I go. But TRUST me when I say everything happens for a reason and God works in the most mysterious ways. I can say that because I think I met my future self and I am SO incredibly thankful for this friendship that was started. One night out I met two girls who I had a connection with instantly. Maybe it was the blonde hair, or the super trendy jewelery, but something sparked and we all fell in love. Come to find out one of the girls, Keri Wilson, seemed to be living my dream. Recently moving back to California after up and moving to New York City to "live her dream" she has recently started her own company from her home. Geode Designs. Probably one of the COOLEST stories I have ever heard. Long story short we talked all night about fashion, photography, NYC, my future, careers and the rest is history. By some serendipitous way the next day I ran into her and her again, and then the next day. Her last day I ran into her at the pool and she had two gifts for my sister and I. A pair of her special hand made leggings and I could not be happier. She likes to say that each picture tells a story, and let me tell you it is true.

I wore them home the next day, and the next day. They were instantly a hit on Instagram and I had people calling and texting me asking where I found these magical pants. So here I am telling you to go buy them now. She and her team are amazing and the story is unreal.

Talk about sassy pants..

Who knows what the future brings between Keri and I maybe these photos will one day be on a pair of leggings but for now I am going to continue to support this trend and woman! This is a friendship I will hold on to for a while, if not for the amazing opportunities and inspiration she is, for the sake of the leggings!

Winter Wear

Considering it is the middle of November and still 80 degrees in Arizona when I want to feel the seasons change, I have to turn to Tumblr. I sit on it atleast 3 times a day and look at outfits people are posting from all over the world (mostly NYC). However where ever they may be it seems they are all dressing in fall and winter wear, something I will never get to do.

Here are some of my favorite outfits I found while browsing the web. Hopefully eventually I may be able to wear a scarf and sweater at the same time without sweating! Until then I will just obsess over outfits via web.

Maybe if you are suffering from this fall weather you were able to get a little inspiration for today's outfit

On the Pier

The weather has been so amazing in Boston lately! After our snowy week it was so nice to break out my Rag and Bone leather shorts I've been staring at in my closet. That with my Alexander Wang sweater and leather booties made a perfect outfit outing.

Happy Thanksgiving my lovelies <3

Boutique'n Around

Since our last posts lots of things have happened. We both have started our senior year, and life could not be better right now. Although crazy and hectic for the both of us, we are winding down the days where we can sit and relax, and starting to think about our future. About a month into school I received an email from a girl who works at local online store called Boutique To You. She said that she had seen the blog and asked if I was interested in styling there next shoot! I don't think I had been this happy since returning to school. It seemed as if everything was falling into place, and this was probably the best opportunity that I would be given in Arizona so f

Here are some looks from the shoot :)

Anything you see can be found at their website Here
Hopefully I'll get to work with them again

stay tuned :)

Style High Club

Yesterday was probably the best day of my life. Obviously I am obsessed with fashion and clothes, but it is not the act of looking at them. I am obsessed with telling a story with them, feeling them, seeing them talk when they hug a body just right. I am obsessed with how they photograph, and how they can create a completely different person or persona. I am obsessed with styling. Work has been amazing I literally could not ask for a better internship. The people, the models, the company, and the opportunities that I am around are God sent. You always hear people tell you to maximize your opportunities, and jump on any opportunities that are thrown your way...so recently I did.
Everyone in my office can sense, or see, my obsession with style and styling so it was no surprise that when a co-worker needed a stylist for an upcoming shoot she asked me. Being an intern I never ever in a thousand and one years thought that I would be asked to style, but I was, and I did. Probably one of the greatest experiences of my life. As she told me "an outfit can ruin a picture" so there was definitely no pressure when I was pulling items for her...I knew how huge this was and how huge this could be for me. This is a start for what I want to do with my life, and knowing that I could someday be doing this forever makes me want to cry tears of joy.
Yesterday we had about a 6 hour day shooting the beautiful IMG model Tatiana Turin. I could not have been happier with our model when she walked in. I knew the clothes I had were going to absolutely look bananas on her, and she KILLED IT! She was so relaxed and chill we hit it off instantly. The photographer captured some of the most amazing photos I have ever seen& I cannot wait to see the final results.

I have no idea where this will take me but if it is anywhere that I dream of I can't wait.

Dior Doll

This is just TOO cute not to post. Especially because she is channeling one of my idols Bridgette Bardot if you don't fall in love with Daphne after this then something is seriously wrong with you.

*This song will be stuck in your head all day.

Made for Manhattan

My internet has been down for a week and I have had so much to blog about! Not to mention this has probably been one of the most hectic and stressful weeks I've had in a while. It's hard to complain because I have never been happier or in a better stage in my life, however sometimes the NYC lifestyle gets the best of you, and the best thing to do is breathe and keep going. I am obsessed with pictures, and on a daily basis I am stopping to catch the best photos. They help me remember what it is I love so much about being here, and how incredible this place is.

Here is my life in pictures.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it is still all so surreal that I am here. I never stop thinking positive thoughts&when I get stressed out and overwhelmed I just look outside and remember that I am truly living my dream, and right now nothing else matters.

Model Behavior

As excited as I was to blog about all the NYC fashion and life style I have found it to be extremely exhausting. They weren't kidding when they said this city doesn't sleep, because it doesn't and neither do I. I am someone who puts sleep before almost anything, and this lifestyle has got the best of me. Up at 7 work until 5, maybe have time for a feast of a dinner before I start my homework and talk the night away with my roommate about our exhausting days, so that we can fall asleep by midnight, and do it all over again. However I have never been happier in my LIFE. I love this job, I love the people, and I love the experience I am getting. Last week I told you about the my little angel Weronika. This week I am introducing you to Marian Fassarella.
This girl is so talented& not to mention beautiful. Our first day together involved us iPhone shopping. Yes, my task was to take this 21 year old who speaks NO English to get an iPhone. As exciting as that was I have never wished I spoke Portuguese more in my life. The next day as I walked into work I see her in the waiting room. I go over and say hi, great her with the air kiss on both cheeks (so NYC) and then head to my desk. No more than 10 minutes later I am called downstairs to go on a casting. When handed the itinerary for the day my heart literally stops. I see Alexander Wang and Calvin Klein as our first two casting..Outside I walk to Marian sitting smoking a cigarette, standard. She was so excited to see me again, and as I tried to explain to her I would be taking her around town today I also explained how amazing Wang&Klein were but she was not phased and looked at me like I was speaking another language, which I was. We were just two 21 year olds ready to run around Manhattan..
All in all I spent about 2 hours at the Calvin Klein headquarters, and watched the Alexander Wang team test shoot her so I was in heaven. It was all so surreal. My life consists of running all around town with these models in cabs, and subways trying to find our way through this huge city without getting lost has become my favorite past time. I have created such unique friendships with these girls, we have our own sign language and way of talking because we don't understand eachother. We laugh at cab drivers, point to freaks on the subway, and even highfive after castings if we think they went well! They don't even realize it but they are teaching me and showing me so much about life. This industry throws these young girls out there and from day one they are on their own thousands of miles away from their friends and families in a world they know nothing about. I respect them so much, and can't even imagine what it would be like. If they can do those things in order to reach their dreams, I can too.

Get inspired by Mariana...I really love her she even friended me on Facebook!

Intern Problems

It is only the second day of my internship at IMG and I am already so in love and obsessed I don't ever want it to end. My first day I was just getting acquainted with the people, the office, and most importantly the models. I literally got chills and had to hold back tears and I walked into the office. Through a huge wooden door is 25 tables and computers and agents hard at work with the NYC sun shinning in through the massive windows that look out towards the skyline. Everything is so open it is a complete dream. Seeing the massive amounts of pictures of all the models on the walls and through the entire office makes it all even better. Not only are the people beautiful, but their style. Each person in the office has a unique style and represents themselves so differently. From denim, to neon, to all black I was in my complete vision of heaven.
Yesterday was my second day and it was enough to kill me. I started off by arriving at the office at 9. I watched models come in and out to meet with their agents, updated a couple of portfolios and then the real task came. I was asked to escort a model to all of her castings because she isn't familiar with the city.....little did they know neither was I. Together we went an adventure, she didn't speak much English, and I didn't know what the L or the M or the Uptown 3 was. Or where 14th and 3rd avenue was. Long story short I ended up taking a 15 year old Polish model who BARELY spoke English all over Manhattan and Brooklyn for about 5 hours. We rode countless subways, walked at least 100 miles total, and became extremely close extremely fast. I cannot begin to explain the impact she had on me, and how I look at fashion.

I took her to the infamous Milk studios so she could meet with major major clients that I knew all about, but she had no idea. To her this was just another day nothing phases her, she is so timid and shy, but when she is in front of that camera she gives them exactly what they wanted and I WAS SO PROUD! We talked about her home, her cats, her parents, and how her best friends miss her. This girl is so young and yet has so much going that she probably does not even realize. After a long day of castings I then took her to her "modeling lessons" when I asked her what they were going to do with her she said, "I don't know maybe teach me what a model does". If she even knew you can't be taught, you just have it, and she definitely has it. I kept calling her my little Weronika( pronounced Veronica), and she thought I was a crazy crazy American girl. She couldn't believe I was 21 she thought I was her age! This girl is going to be big one day and I can't wait to watch her grow. She is the perfect McQueen meets Wang type of androgynous girl. If anyone has shown me what hard work is it is this little girl and I have her to thank for showing me real passion.
