Summer Shopping. Part II

What a successful day.

I’m adding a Part II to Summer Weather = Shopping; or more of “results”. After an hour at Alex and Ani, Kathleen and I found some fabulous pieces! Including this bracelet with dangling chains [inspiration=Taylor Tomasi Hill]. Kathleen found different ones around the store making a perfect tribal inspired set. I also found this ring with a charm that says FIRE. Love it.

Zara was too far, but luckily Jonathan Adler was right next door. I found the most amazing silver metallic pouf. It is absolutely the perfect extra seat. Kathleen thought this banana flower holder was adorable, as did I. Now, it has a home next to my Pottery Barn frame [which I got on sale].

Perfect day. Xo,

Ash.

Summer Weather = Shopping

I would rather spend all my money on clothing, shoes and jewelry than anything. When my eye sees something ahmazing, two things happen: 1) I immediately obsess. 2) I do anything anything anything to get it.

Summer time has FINALLY arrived in Boston, and so far I have yet to experienced it [I just got all four of my wisdom teeth out. I’m dying for solid food and to not look like my face is in a fat suit]. Alas, the swelling in my puffy cheeks has gone down and I’m ready to embrace the town with cash in my pocket and a fashion on my mind [like it ever leaves].

With my sister in town, I will be taking her to Alex and Ani, a jewelry store where you create the perfect bangle set, however how you like it. I bought her a few for her birthday and I’m happy to take her back and add to her collection. Next stop, Zara. After scrolling through their online lookbook, I am more than inspired and want to grab a couple key pieces that will bring my summer wardrobe moving.

P.S. I just moved into my new apartment not long ago and cannot wait to start sharing pics soon!

Xo,

Ash.

Best time of day.

I love the swim-up bar.
Clam Chowder plate was so cute.

After my 8 day vacation to Los Cabos, Mexico I figured the best way to show you how my trip was, would be through pictures. I took pictures of my favorite moments, and my favorite items. If you have never been I HIGHLY suggest you plan a trip. The margaritas are amazing, but  the homemade chips and salsa are even better. And the fact that I'm about five shades darker, and my hair is five shades lighter makes it even more upsetting to leave, but I am about done with Mexican food. Today being Memorial Day made me want a giant American burger. So to those of you who had one today, for that I am jealous.
I will miss the sandy  beaches, the beautiful sun sets, and going to sleep listening to the waves crash. However leaving only means that I will be back soon, and that I will be back to blogging regularly again now that the vaca is over!

Prabal Gurung at J.Crew

J.Crew and Prabal Gurung join in holy matrimony. And together, they are making sweet sweet clothing.

I had the pleasure of meeting Prabal at Teen Vogue University last October and was swooning over his bright blue tie pants from the Spring 2010 RTW Collection [I just so happened to be wearing a shirt in the same vibrant color with black silk shorts and my thigh high Gucci shoe boots. He told me I was fashionable and I almost fainted]. He includes this tied pant in this collection available exclusively at J.Crew.

Be inspired by his mood board and his lookbook. He has floral fever, done sophisticated and stylish.

Enjoy,

Ash.

Say it in writing.

Say it in writing.
What do you have to say.

When I woke up this morning and walked out the door, I noticed something was missing. My "Sara" gold name necklace. That is my most prized possession, and I rarely ever take it off. I had been in panic all day thinking I lost it, until I found it in my make up bag. That got me thinking about how bold jewelery can be. That necklace makes a statement, one which, Carrie Bradshaw, Lauren Conrad, and Whitney Port have made. I feel naked without it. People comment on it all the time, and although it has been through a lot, I am still obsessed after all these years.

I went through and picked out some of my favorite pieces, and then some that were just outrageous. You can say so much, just by one piece of jewelery. Whether it's your name, your state, or your religion people are finding ways to express themselves everyday and I love that.

Hope you can find a piece to obsess over

Color, color on the wall...

Gucci, my dear, you have a special place in my heart. And now in my home.

Ever since they introduced their Spring 2011 Collection with a generous helping of color, my mind has been sorting through color choices for the walls in my new apartment. I’m starting to think Gucci/Carrie Bradshaw apartment-makeover. Something in between. I’m dropping drab modern and spicing things up a bit [while my boyfriend spices things up in the kitchen; let’s face it, I just can’t cook and he does].

. Red+Purple combo [I’m truly obsessed with this color combo. You have NO idea]

. Eclectic eclectic eclectic [think Jonathan Adler]

. A photo wall with an extra large mat. Every designer has this. They show off who they know and who they love.

Enjoy my inspiration,

Ash.

9-5 Girl

9-5
Working girl with some flare

Since I've been home all I've heard about is working, and jobs. Everyone in my house is working, and most of my friends have been job searching since we returned home. All I want is just to relax, but naturally that is not even an option. I will start working at my dad's new hotel at the beginning of June, and so will a lot of my lovely friends who I volunteered to work with me. But for those of you who are still searching, I figured most girls never know what exactly to wear to an interview and/or the first days of work. In my experience I sometimes only served as entertainment at work. My co-workers would tell me they were always making bets, and interested to see what I would be wearing next. Obviously I have always taken my job extremely fashion-serious, so I thought I'd share some tips.

Don't be too revealing, nobody cares how nice your body is, you're going to get the job because of your personality. Avoid super short and tight skirts and dresses, and if you must try and make it classy with a blazer or conservative top. If you are allowed, add some color! It's summer and just because you are stuck inside or behind a cubicle doesn't mean you can't add some happiness to your outfit. I always try to add jewelery to my outfit, I find that I feel naked without certain items. A chunky ring or bold necklace is enough, no need to go Liberace on everyone. Like I've mentioned before GAP, Banana Republic, and J. Crew are lifesavers for work attire. Grab some items from each, and add your own flare you will be golden.

Hope that helps
